Welcome to Dolphin Cove 2!

We have been reading the novel, 'Boy Overboard' and loved following Jamal's (the main character) journey. We are now demonstrating our understanding of the text through writing a poem to retell the story. The poem is told through our senses. Themes of 'Boy Overboard' have also been our focus and we are now demonstrating this understanding through creating a mind map.  Our poem and mind map are due Friday of Week 10.

In Digital Technologies, we have been learning to use the ICT program, 'Scratch' to demonstrate our learning in HASS. We're creating a presentation to communicate our understandings of Australia's History, including Federation and Democracy. We can't wait to see the final products!

Place Value has been our focus in Mathematics. We've been revising how the number system works, including decimals and numbers into the billions.

The Year 6's entered the ClueDunnit Competition.

The Western Australian competition enables students to compete against other Year 6 students from schools across the State. This project is conducted as part of the annual Law Week activities of The Law Society of Western Australia.

The educational benefits of this project spans all the Key Learning Areas as children will be learning to develop research, analytical and creative skills; teamwork; argumentative skills in line with NAPLAN; and meet cross-curricula requirements for the Australian Curriculum.

ClueDunnit is particularly relevant to the Year 6 Australian Curriculum History program which requires students to learn about Australia’s system of law.

We are currently solving a crime and have three suspects! We've made crime scene boards to collect our evidence, which is enabling us to make connections. This week we obtained some photo evidence taken from a video surveillance camera. Now we are trying to solve which one of our suspects has been caught on camera!! Stay tuned to hear about how our investigation changes!
