Blue Haven 2

Welcome To Blue Haven 2!

Dear Parents and Carers,

Thank you for a wonderful Term 1 and now Term 2 is upon us! A busy term ahead with lots of learning, play and fun.

We continue to focus on our TRIBES agreements and are focusing on the students trying their Personal Best, showing Attentive Listening, Mutual Respect, Appreciations/No putdowns and Right to Participate

Our Literacy focus on Letters and Sounds  continues every morning and we are focusing on applying them in our reading and writing. Watch this space for next steps in reading! Please remember to support your child and celebrate the success and individual progress your child is making!

In Maths we are focusing on number and we will look at our teen numbers, counting to 100 and counting up to 20 and back again. We will also focus on counting on from any number. We will work on strategies to complete simple addition. This will lead to working on subtraction and its relationship to counting back. We will spend time looking at patterns in numbers and have lots of fun playing with all the numbers in our environment. Mrs Eather will continue to work on shape with a focus on  the attributes of 3D shapes.

STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths) is providing some amazing opportunities for children across our school to develop problem solving skills, to design, create, test and explore different techniques to create a product. This process opens up language and vocabulary, team work, collaboration and problem solving between students. This is something new for Mrs VS and the students so it's an exciting learning development for us all.

Please continue to put your name down to help. We really value your support where possible, to build upon learning opportunities for our children! If you put your name down and find you cannot come in please let us know so that we can adjust our activities. Thank you.

In you have any queries please don't hesitate to contact me through the school by phone or school email.
